17 DECEMBER 2011 : MY BROTHER’S BIRTHDAY

I do believe its Photo Challenge Day. I do hope so. We have the Time Zones to cross. I shall check and see, I slept on yesterday’s concept of  taking what everyone thinks and exploring the opposite but I rather think I need a little more sleep before dealing with it.

Maybe I will have a look at Chomsky. First up, the important business of the PHOTO CHALLENGE. Yes, there it is. And only posted one hour ago.

SELF PORTRAIT.

Wonder whether Frizztext has posted his yet. He usually manages First of the Week, but maybe this time it will be ME.

Self Portrait No. 1.  A holding place image. Taken last week in my living room. The weather had cooled despite its being Summertime and the rains had returned. I think I posted this image at the time but it holds fast for now. I was on the old sofa bed I had just acquired with my large Crumpler Bag my daughter gave me a Xmas or two back. Its called the Considerable Embarrassment and is near as big as me. Behind me is the Aspidistra. Just about the only plant I haven’t managed to kill. I decided to pay attention to it with water and sun this week and now she’s looking unwell. The white spiral pillar is a salt pillar given me by Susan for my 60th birthday. Unlike Lot’s wife – I am careful about the looking back. I have two dolls’ houses for the little one and a bookcase of oddments with a WIDE RIVER CAFÉ sign beside it. Izzy is making the sign but I am not sure it’s going to be finished. Just outside the door is the red Pony my parents had. We use it these days, the Cheery Redhead and me, to ride around the yard and visit the horses and the dam where the birds feed.

Self- portrait seemed a self-indulgent theme for the week leading into Christmas, but if I take what people think and explore the opposite, I might wrap up the 2nd last week of 2011 in a less self-centred way.

I wasn’t the first in the World after all. No Matter.
