WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: DISTORTED

THE TRAM STOP IN ANNANDALE.

Ha ! I am up before the Dawn and can see the new Topic which is DISTORTED. FRIZZTEXT has once again beaten me to it but I am off the mark more quickly this week.

Mind you, I haven’t found a photo yet and breakfast is served on the verandah in the dark. That means,  I shall be back in a while with a distorted photograph and some examples from other parts of the world. I will leave you with some music while I eat.

Now – back from brekkie on the Verandah. It is chilly and drizzling rain. My holding image for DISTORTED is one taken through the window to Izzy’s music room while we were in turmoil about whether to separate or not. I have chosen it because of the distortive effects of grief, poverty, outside matters and other people on decision-making. The thin layer of glass between the man and me distorts everything. Just a little.

More than just a little now that I consider it closely. My kitchen is through there and outside is the washing on the line. What looks like a dirty lens is the reflection of the trees in the yard. There appears to be a rake in the music room – as if it’s raking through all the debris of our lives – but its out in the garden. I wonder what else was distorted at that time ?

NOW FOR THE OTHER BLOGGERS: I bet there aren’t many up there yet. Most of them still tucked up in bed asleep on the other side of the world.

DISTORTED: THE MIRRORS AND WINDOWS that I, as a Timid Photographer, use in my travels as a passenger in the Starwagon and other vehicles and at home when I have noone to use as model but myself. I am wondering how differently I see things as a passenger than driver and as model rather than photographer. “ for now , looking through the glass darkly”.

IDEAS FOR MY FINAL CHOICE LATER IN THE WEEK

Looking up at the seeming security of the big Apple and the glass towers from a Sydney bus. Only one week later Occupy Sydney took over this area. We don’t all have the same view of the same place.

A time to think and to discover where the distortions are.

    1. I thought it fitted very well and as well as being a beautiful shot, captured one of the true dangers of distorted viewing. It took your comments to make me REALLY look at what I was seeing and to make me think more deeply.

  1. you touched also my heart with your little story (perfectly illustrated):
“… taken through the window to Izzy’s music room while we were in turmoil about whether to separate or not. I have chosen it because of the distortive effects of grief, poverty, outside matters and other people on decision-making. The thin layer of glass between the man and me distorts …”
