22 OCTOBER 2011 : THE GAS HAS RUN OUT–NOW HERE’S AN OPPORTUNITY.

THE YAAN.

The gas ran out this afternoon. Put that on the list of things we are supposed to accept and say “ Well, we are luckier than most people.” Some people don’t even have Gas ever ! Anyways the gas has run out. That afforded me the opportunity to go to Coffs Harbour and have an Indian Dinner which was specially delicious.  I have a couple of thoughts going on tonight. FRIZZTEXT has hooked me into the “22 things I have never done” idea combined with the ‘22  things I have done”. I am still laughing because he says he once played his banjo with his eyes closed.

Me, I will be going to bed unwashed due to there being no Gas for hot water or stove.

I think that’s the theme I shall go with tonight despite its being the new weekly photo challenge theme day. New challenge is OPPORTUNITY.

The first Pic I will post on this theme, I will make a street photo as well and leave the guessing to you.  a STREET photo in a showground perhaps at a Market.

OPPORTUNITY.

And a shot of one opportunity we missed by one week. We could have been a part of OCCUPY SYDNEY. We were there just seven days too early.

12 JUNE 2011 : WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE : MORNING NO 4.

001

When I get up of a morning, I take one shot of the same view from my front verandah and its never quite the same view. I call the shot REVEILLE . The wake up call.

Most of my mornings are spent in the front room at the eBENCH, while Izzy feeds the animals. 2 chooks, 2 black cats, 2 dogs and a mass of birds – lorikeets in the main – but there are various species. The scrub turkey comes along with the chooks.

Then we take to the round table on the front verandah and drink white tea with local honey and eat a bagel each.

These Raleigh mornings, we face to the East. Well, the whole house faces to the east and just out of sight is the Bellinger River, and a couple of kilometres further on is the Pacific Ocean. In between is the Freeway but I can’t see it from here and rarely hear it.

THIS MORNING IN RALEIGH.
