Mookari, Old Man , the name for Real big rain. Looks like the old Man is going now but He’ll be back again. Dan Davis, Queensland.

Despite the years of drought with the dire predictions and bizarre coping mechanisms, the rains did come and the last few years have rained and rained and then rained some more. Mookari – real big rain.

Looks like his is going now, as Dan Davis said, but he will be back again. Back pre-2009, when they thought it would never rain again, we lived through Interesting Times.

Recycled sewage in Toowoomba. Hasty showers. Cars that couldn’t be washed and a immorality associated with the use of water at all.

Then Mookari came along and out came the umbrellas and the flood klaxons and the gumboots. Towns washed away. Cities flooded.

He goes and he comes. That’s the way of it.
