ON THE BENCH AT THE DOCTORS’

014

Outside the Bellingen Healing Centre is a fine bench with carving. It’s a good place to wait while loved ones visit the doctor. Its in William Street which has some fine old homes and huge trees. Last time we were there, it was too hot to sit outside but today was a gentle Autumn Day and we sat on the Bench and yaaned with a Musician who was reading a flamenco book and then with a woman in a 4 wheel drive. Several people paused and chatted on their way in or out. Some excellent bench sitting today.

MESSAGES ABOUT THE HEART.

Oh, he rides hard to race the pain
Who rides from love, who rides from home;
But he rides slowly home again,
Whose heart has learnt to love and roam

The Sliprails and the Spur

Its coming to the end of another month.  Not an easy month.  There are horses here where I live and one over the fence. The one over the fence is the white one in the picture. I know very little about horses. I don’t think there are many people who do know a lot about a horse’s endurance these days.  It’s the day of the Car. I do have an enduring car. A car called a Charade. Its white as well. It was once my parents’ car and I kind of inherited it.

Now, I come to the matter of the long days and of a person’s heart. I am going to throw my hands up on the matter because I know a lot less about people’s hearts now than I once thought I did. I shall once again hunt up some thoughts that others have on the matter.

Go beyond Fear.

When you examine your fear, if you look beneath the veneer of your nervousness, you find sadness.  Nervousness is cranking up, vibrating all the time.  When you slow down, when you relax with your fear, the sadness is calm and gentle.  In the Shambhala tradition, discovering fearlessness comes from working with the softness of the human heart.

Your feet will bring you to where your heart is. IRISH

True gentleness is in the heart –
No matter how you’re dressed,
It is in the things you think and do
That show what you are best.

As the month ends, I am looking for a new system for the month of April. Will try some Australian Writing Blogs and see what I find.
