ON THE BENCH AT PERRY’S BUTCHERY IN REPTON

The butchery is on top of a hill above the Village of Repton. I don’t know why they have a bench there. It’s the only shop. Maybe they sit there. The butchers, that is. And look out over the Valley. I was going to sit there but I didn’t. I just wondered why the bench faces away from the view. A lot of them do that.

It seems that she was in the process of monster creating when she wrote the lines above. That makes it an interesting remark.

I have had a steady purpose now for over 23 years and it has done a lot to calm a rambling mind and soothe a tortured soul.

My friend in Murwillumbah, Michael, calls it primary purpose.
