Montana and I will have a fine time and she will have realized one of her dreams again. And how has your day been? How’s the Pj’s?

Good Morning to you all from the eBench. It’s a wet day. Soggy and chilly. I was once a fisherperson. I was a fisherperson for many years, in fact. Till the day that the silver bream on South Arm looked into my eyes. Haven’t really fished since then. The image on the right shows my Dad and me in the early 1950s with a schnapper we caught.

I have fished Eucumbene and on the Utiekah III. I have fished Brigalow and 4Mile Beach. And I have fished Botany Bay and Sydney Harbour. Most of all, I have fished the Bellinger and the Kalang Rivers but now I don’t fish.

These are not real Fishermen.

They called themselves that when they were a band in the early 1970s but they were NOT real FISHERMEN.

MERMAIDS

A FISHERMAN SEES A FISHERMAN FROM AFAR.

I recognise other addicts. No drugs involved. I can smell them a mile off and they can smell me even with my white hair and straight life.

I have watched Izzy with other musicians and they are the same. They can see one another from afar.

Bikers are the same. Some of it is to do with secret signs and language involved but I don’t think that’s the whole story.

A FELLOW TRAVELLER WILL ALWAYS RECOGNISE ANOTHER. Izzy passes that comment to me as we sit here Yaaning. My friend, RQ, speaks of Other Places and Other Kinds.  So I sit here this morning, watching the rain. Listening to it. Seeing the water come up in the Front paddock round the ankles of Leo, the new horse and I locate myself amongst my own Kind. I am going out now to see whether Café is on at Bundagen Community. More Yaaning when I come back.

BUNDAGEN

  OUR COMMUNITY

Bundagen is an intentional community established in August 1981 with three guiding principles: social harmony; environmental responsibility; and economic independence. We are a rural land sharing co-operative and wildlife sanctuary. We see our community as having essentially a caretaker role for this piece of coastal land and aim to create only low impact development. Regeneration of native vegetation in environmentally fragile areas is a focus, as is an emphasis on organic gardening.

BACK ON THE eBENCH at night. Day done. Seemed to turn pretty busy after all. And I saw a Fisherman – from afar – but he didn’t see me.

APRIL 25 2011 : Don’t stand in the sun if you’ve got butter on your head.

Original in Dutch or Twents: “Wie boter op zijn hoofd heeft moet niet in de zon gaan staan.”

Its ANZAC DAY and therefore a Public holiday here in NSW. It incorporates Easter this year as well as a cascade of familial birthdays. As for me, I am here on my eBench, in my pyjama pants and fully off duty. Just Yaaning. Just Yaaning. Today I am going to stuck with the DO NOT theme of the Dutch quote. I can already add:

DON’T TAKE A CLASS OF KIDS ON AN EASTER WALK WITH CHOCOLATE EGGS ON YOUR HEAD.

Now I shall take a look at Old Fotos and see what other good DO NOT advice I can give you as a Nana and Elderwoman.  I should probably add:

DON’T GET YOUR NANA TATTOO FROM THE SOUTH GRAFTON TATTOO PARLOUR FOR $10.

One thing that I like about this Dutch saying is that it doesn’t at all need to tell you WHY or WHAT the consequences of going out in the sun with butter on your head would be. Likewise shall I do. I will just give you some DON’Ts and you can work them out.

204928_1606602416035_1565410727_1574079_2776046_o

DON’T WEAR YOUR DINNER NAPKIN ON YOUR HEAD.
063 DON’T GET PALSY OF YOUR CRANIAL NERVE. ESPECIALLY THE 6th CRANIAL NERVE.
225 DON’T EAT SAUSAGES ON STICKS.
334 DON’T LOOK FOR HATE WHERE THERE IS ONLY LOVE.

What other DO NOTs have I been told ? I shall try to think of 10.

  1. don’t stand behind a horse.
  2. don’t sit on an outside toilet without checking for red back spiders.
  3. don’t marry a man with less brains than you have.
  4. don’t wear rings because your fingers are too stumpy.
  5. don’t play the piano because your fingers are too stumpy.
  6. don’t grow your hair too long because your face can’t carry it.
  7. don’t go and live in Bellingen because you will use drugs and die.
  8. don’t leave 5 minutes before the miracle happens.
  9. don’t volunteer for anything.
  10. don’t ever ever play with spiritual things

Bonus Do NOT from Nana Bell to go with the warning about not fiddling with matters spiritual:

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT BY ANYONE  BUT A HAIRDRESSER OR IT WILL BLEED.

Izzy. Don’t think yourself so smart.

And now for some WORDS OF WISDOM.

Admonitions.

APRIL 24 2011: DAY NO 115 : OLD THOUGHTS.

aaconv 024

In The Beginning

Back past the time of the dreaming,
Beyond where the world began
To the dawn of time when the spirits
Were part of a living plan,
On the edge of all eternity
Lived a million spirit souls,
They knew that their destiny waited
They knew for their thoughts were old.

Stella P Bell.

Back on my own e-Bench after a few days up on the Tablelands with Family. There is a plover just out the front and the new horse, Leo, is down the bottom of his paddock.  Looks like two plovers.

Today, I am going to stick with the idea of OLD THOUGHTS and knowing that my destiny waits and always has. Its clouded and cool and its Easter Sunday. I left Armidale before the Egg Hunt. I have never been on an Easter Egg hunt. My father was a larrikin Methodist and we didn’t do much by the rules. Broke them is about all. So we got our eggs on Friday and we didn’t go hunting for them.

Old thoughts and spirit souls. I was given a wee book by my niece yesterday. A David Spangler book about the Laws of Manifestation. It was once mine and then my sister’s. Now it returns to me. I have been fascinated by Findhorn for many years and only in the last couple I have found out that one section of my family came out here in the Scottish Highland Clearances. From up Findhorn way.

Googling this one has led me to HOMELAND . That’s a commune in our Valley. I didn’t know it was a Findhorn vision. Aha ! Now, nutters like Frank B live there as well as the core people but it’s the original vision in which I am interested. The OLD THOUGHTS.

THE MAGIC OF FINDHORN.

I found this video of a wee house as well. Not at Findhorn – but it appeals to me.

Now, I had best go looking for some of the Old Thoughts.

(Somehow Findhorn slipped into my day’s awareness then. It seems to have grown like Woolworth’s into a shape of which I am less fond than I was of the Original.)

kooka

The Kookaburras which are here in numbers at the moment, seem to me to hold Old Thoughts. And I wouldn’t mind looking into a cow’s eyes more closely. Cows also seem to me to know things ( as they also say about Monks).

I am going to meeting in Raleigh Hall now. Lets see what OLD THOUGHTS I hear there. Back later and let you know.

2pm. Back from Raleigh. The day has clouded over and cooled down. I once read a story about souls being shown around Heaven before being sent to Earth. I think it was a Jewish story. The Souls then knew all the secrets and what was planned for them and then an angel put a finger to their lips and said “ Sssssh !” in a whisper. Then on Earth they had only dim recollections of all they knew and that little dent above the upper lip where the Angel’s finger had pressed the lip.

Beyond where the world began
To the dawn of time when the spirits
Were part of a living plan,
On the edge of all eternity

Now for a Meander through Ancient Thoughts.

ANCIENT THOUGHTS

209427_1832522727706_1079527275_31935677_817875_o

Understand that the universe
is  forever out of control, and that trying to dominate events goes against the river’s current.

If you believe in yourself, will you need the belief of others?

If you are content with yourself, will you need the approval of others?

If you accept yourself, who will not accept you?

OLD THOUGHTS OF MINE.

Well here’s a challenge. Some old thoughts of mine. Hmmmmm.

  1. Don’t drink or take drugs.

  2. Nothing is urgent.

  3. I do not like being cold.

APRIL 23 2011: "Listening looks easy, but it’s not simple. Every head is a world." Cuba.

http://fastlizard.com/retired/honeybeelistening/ListeningProverbs.htm

anigif

Back after several days away celebrating my son’s 30th birthday. There were a lot of us gathered and every one of us had at least one world operating in the head.

Wanting to talk. Wanting to listen.

It looks easy – but – its not simple.

There were questions being asked and tales being told. There were things to see and things to do and listening – wasn’t easy or simple.
