10 MAY 2011 : DAY NO 131 OF 2011 : Not every cloud brings rain.

FROM SOUND PROVERBS

All clouds bring not rain.”We can rephrase this: “Not every cloud brings rain.” And that’s true. Sometimes there are many clouds in the sky, but it doesn’t rain. Sometimes it’s the same with problems, or what we think are problems.

hear-no-evil_thumbNOT EVERY CLOUD BRINGS RAIN.

For a few years now it has seemed that every cloud brought rain. In the physical world anyways. I do like to take a cliché and look further at the literal meaning of it. That process adds colour and depth to the small catchphrases of life.

NOT EVERY CLOUD BRINGS RAIN.

We had years of drought and predictions, well more like dire warnings, that it would never rain again. Then in 2009, the rains came and from then till now, the nervous shimmers of the average Australian have gone from fear of no rain to dread of more rain.  Not every cloud brings rain but a lot of clouds do.

Then again, I did learn a lesson about that once. I had taken a shine to a young Englishman and he had taken a shine to me. We sat down on the Promenade at Bondi Beach and discussed the possibility of committing to a relationship.

Says I. “ Well, even though it will probably be bad, I am willing to give it a go.”

Says he, “ That’s funny. I was thinking THIS COULD BE GOOD.”

That was a rainless cloud lesson for me. Up till that point, I rarely had the expectation that something could be good.

NOT EVERY CLOUD BRINGS RAIN.

Some more things about this cloud saying that just came to my mind are:

Sometimes rain is a good thing and sometimes its not.

Sometimes its good for one thing and not another.

A certain amount of rain has one effect and a different amount has another effect.

The rain or rainlessness will affect each person, place or thing in a different way.

Sit down a moment and we’ll take a look at some of the Clouds I’ve seen. Some brought rain. Some didn’t.

We believe that every being is divine, is God. Every soul is a sun covered over with clouds of ignorance; the difference between soul and soul is owing to the difference in density of these layers of clouds.

“Meditate. Live purely. Be humble. Do your work with mastery. Like the moon, come out from behind the clouds! Shine!”
Buddha, 568-488 BC,

Founder of Buddhism.

NOTHING TO DO WITH CLOUDS BUT IT HAS A GOOD DEAL TO DO WITH THINGS NOT NECESSARILY BRINGING WHAT YOU EXPECT THEM TO.
