Versatile blogger award trophya

Over in the U.S.A. is one of the Bloggers I follow and she’s the one I am saying THANK YOU to today. This morning, I opened my emails and found a VERSATILE BLOGGER’S AWARD from Cecilia Futch. Bear with me as I work out how to post it and the details of doing so. For a woman like me who has never left the shores of her own small world, it’s a real pleasure to have contact with other people in other places. Sitting here in my little cottage, writing blog posts, I don’t think I am usually conscious that anyone reads or looks at them. Thank You indeed Cecilia Futch.

Now let’s see what I am supposed to do next.

I have been blessed to meet some incredible and talented people through this medium called “blogging.” As this blog has grown, and as I’ve added other blogs, my network keeps expanding.  Having read many other excellent blogs, I am even more amazed that I was nominated for this award.  Wow.

The Versatile Blogger Award is an award passed from blogger to blogger. As with any award, there are responsibilities that go with it.  This award not only increases your blog’s visibility in the blogging world, but it is a way to expose a little about the blogger behind the blog (in this case, me).  Finally, as the awardee, one get to  share with her/his readers who  their favorite bloggers and writers are.

I’m off to Growers’ Markets for the morning and will take a good look at the Award when I come home. Thank you.

OK then . Home from GROWERS’ MARKETS. The next part of the Award.

Here is how it works:

1) Link back to the blogger that gave me the award .
2) Tell you 7 random things about myself.
3) Choose 15 other blogs to pass the award to.
4) Inform the other bloggers that I’m passing the award to them.

1. I am Australian and descended from convicts and assisted emigrants from the UK : England, Ireland and Scotland. My Heritage is on LYNNE BELL SANDERS site.

2. I used to live in a little white cottage on top of a hill in the sub-tropical Tweed River Region. In the mornings I could see the sun rising over the Coral Sea through palm trees.

I rather liked that.

3. My Poppa Bell worked for years on Sydney Trams and was based near Central Railway Station in Sydney. Its no longer as gracious as it was back then. That’s the snack bar in the pic. I was there only last year with my Sister. By then her hair had gone and she was very ill. She died from lung cancer this year – same thing that killed my Poppa Bell a long time ago.

4. I dropped out in the early 1970s and took to the ‘hippy trail’. I wasn’t a true Hippy. I was what they called a Freak. I haven’t really ever dropped back in again. Nowadays people seem to merely think I’m eccentric and don’t quite know that I am dropped out.

5. At this time I am living in a little cottage in what I call my hometown on the North Coast of NSW. It’s a good place for a Nana to live and for an eremitic disposition like mine. Its near the River, the Ocean and the Mountains. I don’t even have a key to lock the doors. There is no need to.

6. Never thought I would get to be a grandmother and now I have 3 granddaughters and thank goodness for that. I like to see Life continuing. Watching a Soul make itself at home in this world – well it’s a wonderful thing.

7. AND I have seen BROLGAS. I didn’t get near enough to get a clear photograph and it was just after the big floods of 2009 – but I HAVE seen Brolgas. A lot of Brolgas. One of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Hmmm. Not to choose 15 other Blogs. That’s a lot. I will make a beginning.
