On the eBENCH mid morning.

Today, I am truly laid back with only afternoon plans. I do a good few Markets since I came back to the Bellingen Shire. Today, I could be at GROWERS’ MARKET which is one I enjoy but have opted out of for a week or two.

What I am thinking about is the climate in this area ?  Its not specially cold and not specially hot. Its rather wet.

It seems to me that we cater in this area for a very ORDINARY climate in our habitations and clothing and activities. In the 1960s, the powers that be decided to be progressive and designed a high school uniform for all of us at WILEY PARK GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL which would suit both Summer and Winter. It didn’t work. Not even the innovative shoestring tie or the jaunty green beret made the uniform work for all seasons.

Its much the same up here. A lot of the houses aren’t warm enough in Winter nor cool enough in Summer.  Nor are our clothes.  Or our chosen activities.  We do tend to have gumboots. That’s one wise move. And now that we are allowed to have wood fires again, there are some warm homes.

Anyways, I was looking at last week’s market pictures and thinking that there really were some good Winter outfits there. Specially the lady with the rug coat in the top picture. That’s a little ripper and I suspect that the young lady in the dress has an abundance of undergarments to keep her warm.
