9 SEPTEMBER 2011 : THE PATH THROUGH THE REST OF MY BLOGS

Forgive the indulgence. I will continue the path through the last of my blogs – not for your sake but so that I have my head around the messy disarray and perhaps apply some fine tuning.  They are in need of some cleaning up. First up, an image of a big old pelican I saw the other day down on the Kalang River in Urunga. He was sitting there on the fish cleaning tables. Just waiting. For the boats to come in with their catches.

THE BLOGS

LIZZY FOREAL

Another one which started way back while I was in Brisbane. Just for something to do while Izzy was at work. It followed on my obsession with FREE FONTS and developed into a mad collection of ANIMATED GIFS. I had it in the Sleeper section of my Blogs and only realised a couple of weeks back that it was drowsing rather than sleeping. I guess the Animated Gif doesn’t really die despite advice to the contrary.  People still keep following the Lizzy Blog.

LETTERS IN SAND.

http://lizzyforeal.wordpress.com/

LETTERS IN SAND is small and quiet. Quiet because the challenge of it is one I haven’t truly picked up as yet. I wanted to incorporate colonial studies and my beloved NLA newspapers with some fictional, steam punkish writing of my own.

I have managed 2 chapters and placed it aside for a moment. I do better at gathering and editing, in general than I do at writing. Nonetheless – this one is simmering. I have IDEAS about this blog.

IZZY FOREAL – PICTORIAL

http://izzyforealpictorially.wordpress.com/

Now here's a classic shot! The Zarsoff Brothers at Caesar's Palace, Cairns, 1979.

This one just about gets NO hits at all. Interesting. Just images of Izzy Foreal to go with his ZARSOFF BROS sites. Still odd that it only gets 580 hits over several years.

THE GEM COLLECTION

a daily online calendar

rovers The Queenslander (Brisbane, Qld. 1866-1939), Saturday 12 February 1881,

The GEM COLLECTION is my daily online calendar. I find one quote or proverb (preferably obscure). For that, I use the INTERNET ARCHIVE a lot.

Then I add an image from my photos, usually taken on each day’s date but in earlier years. Now with the TROVE online, I am filling the post with Old Australian Verse or snippets of news. The body of the post varies but I focus on Australian content.

I like the GEM COLLECTION and use it each morning. Pretty much. I add it to the sidebars of the other blogs and post it on my FACEBOOK profile.  There is a lot of work in it and I am close to the end of prepared posts at the moment. I am hoping for time in Sydney to get ahead of myself somewhat.

SANDERS OF KINCHELA

0 1 the sanders @ kinchela

Another heritage one set up as an offshoot of the large quantity of info coming in on the SANDERS OF KINCHELA group on Facebook. Its very neglected but I am using it as a holding place for images and documents and data so it serves its own purpose.

I started ON THE BENCH when I started the WordPress 2011 Post a Day Challenge. Most of my attention is on it throughout 2011.

cane toads marchThe Australian Women's Weekly (1932-1982), Wednesday 1 November 1972

Just a casual blog of links to sites which:

a: impress me

b: do not impress me.

I have a number of hidden sleepers and 2 hidden Blogs which are just for me and my little girls. They are about FAERIES.  They keep us in contact with one another wherever we are all living.

MEANWHILE OVER ON BLOGGER Blogs which serve a slightly different purpose.

The title says it all. I look for oddities and allow myself not one word more than one and not one picture more than one on any given day. Its fun.

BLOG IT ALL
THAT’S NEWS TO ME
http://blogitall-nellibell49.blogspot.com/

48 1 23 october 1948

I like BLOGGER. Not quite sure why I don’t work in it more often. One reason is that I used the Windows Live Writer for my posts and that has photo editing far more easily and with more features.

BLOG IT ALL is a hotchpotch of news and links and RSS from newspapers etc.

BLOGS IN NEED OF ATTENTION.

A quick run through of Bellingen Shire updates. I mostly just add sites relevant to this area when I come across them.

SAVE BELLO HOSPITAL Another holding tank for Facebook data. This one is for the Save Bellingen Hospital Page which has over 3600 members.

Another Blog for posting sites which I might need later or which interest me. BURRA’S TREE

is primarily concerned with Australian Literature sources and history. The making of our place.

THE WHITE ROSE TRADING COMPANY
WRCROWD

The WHITE ROSE TRADING COMPANY existed in Urunga in the mid 1970s. I know that because I was the licensed 2nd hand dealer who owned the business with Toby B.

This site is just in preparation for a few dreams of mine.

METHINKS SHE DOTH PROTEST

rights

This is my place for complaining and protesting and outrage. I needed one like this for sheer distress .

A second reason that I don’t use BLOGGER as often as I would like to is that I can’t get their SEARCH to work well at all.

Phew. That’s the end of that Path through the muddle of Blogs. I shall now settle down and play Scrabble and maybe write another Faerie Story for our private Blog. The new photo challenge is to come in tonight. I might take a little look at images by other people which have been posted later in the week on the topic of PATH before the new topic is listed.

My final choice for my own PATH PIC.

THE FLOODED PATH.

It says a lot to me about each of the definitions of Path.
