NEW YEAR’S EVE 2011 IN BELLINGEN

A Happy New Year to al of you Fellow Bloggers. A mad crew we must be to have persevered with this challenge.Bravo !

THE YAAN. Its 10.20pm here in Bellingen, Australia. All is quiet. Its 21.5 degrees Celsius. There’s been 1.2 mm rain since 9 a.m. this morning. And there’s almost no wind. Now and then, cheers erupt from the house 2 doors up the street. Nothing too raucous. Across the river, we heard fireworks briefly at 9p.m. but didn’t see anything. Likely I will be in bed before midnight. Izzy’s music gear is all stashed in his van. John and him played by the pool at the luxury resort despite the rain and cold and I went to my meeting in town and talked again until the shops were shut. My Girls were here during the day for a bit. All in all, a peaceful ending to a tough year. Me, I am going to read Edgar Rice Burroughs in bed. The CHESSMEN OF MARS this time. I’m leaving all the confusion and relational hurts alone for the rest of the Year and letting it all sleep.

One thing I do do – is wish you all a 2012, that ….. Let me think. The 2012 that is the BEST for you.

Back into the TROVE for me to see what other New Year’s have been.

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE : WINTER OR SUMMER

The photo challenge for the last week of the year is up.. BETWEEN had some relevance to the ending year for me but over here in Australia, WINTER is not for another 6 months and something specifically associated with NEW YEAR would have appealed to me.

No matter. The Photographers will take the Theme someplace interesting. I think I shall go with SUMMER since we are in mid Summer despite the weather being wet and cool.

First up then, a shot from this morning here at the mudbrick house .

THE PATH TO THE RIVER.

Its not like Summer here at all today. Wet and cool and clouded. I woke to it this morning and then opened the Net to find this post from FRIZZTEXT.

http://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/weekly-photo-challenge-winter/ with a personal message to me. He’s right. We do NOT get snow here at all. Sometimes a little flake or two a couple of hours up the mountains but not down here on the Coast. Our usual Summertime is very hot and humid with days spent in the river or suffering at home. Thank you for the images of Snow. I shall take a look around the Challengers before I add to my Summer images.  The Man who is still in my life at this time is meant to play music poolside at Pacific Bay Resort today but the weather might beat them as well. I am settled in for the day, here in Bellingen. Meeting later in town and then, maybe, No 5 Church Street for New Year Dinner.  A couple more images from this mid Summer morning and then off around the World to look at Winter
