The photo challenge for the last week of the year is up.. BETWEEN had some relevance to the ending year for me but over here in Australia, WINTER is not for another 6 months and something specifically associated with NEW YEAR would have appealed to me.
No matter. The Photographers will take the Theme someplace interesting. I think I shall go with SUMMER since we are in mid Summer despite the weather being wet and cool.
First up then, a shot from this morning here at the mudbrick house .
THE PATH TO THE RIVER.

Its not like Summer here at all today. Wet and cool and clouded. I woke to it this morning and then opened the Net to find this post from FRIZZTEXT.
http://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/weekly-photo-challenge-winter/ with a personal message to me. He’s right. We do NOT get snow here at all. Sometimes a little flake or two a couple of hours up the mountains but not down here on the Coast. Our usual Summertime is very hot and humid with days spent in the river or suffering at home. Thank you for the images of Snow. I shall take a look around the Challengers before I add to my Summer images. The Man who is still in my life at this time is meant to play music poolside at Pacific Bay Resort today but the weather might beat them as well. I am settled in for the day, here in Bellingen. Meeting later in town and then, maybe, No 5 Church Street for New Year Dinner. A couple more images from this mid Summer morning and then off around the World to look at Winter

SUMMER RAIN OUT THE BACK ON NEW YEAR’S EVE 2011.

Great Shot for this week topic 🙂
love this post !!!!!
Thanks for summer. i love your idea of visiting posts to find the ‘opposite’ season. Maybe the topic ‘weather’ would have been more appropriate for the worldwide nature of postaweek.
Hi Nellibell, is it still wet cool and clouded? We are having a summer day on the south coast! One of the rare few this season, but I hope they will continue. I went with winter, a winter when we were walking in the desert out from Alice Springs, at least it was cold enough for beanies ….but I am with you on the Northern hemisphere centricness of the topic!

Love your rise to the challenge and hope it warms up for you soon. Until then, Happy New Year to you!
Excellent photos… they are so lush and green too. 🙂
I love your photos, such lush greenery. I wish I could have posted a green photo instead of the snowy backyard, alas, I live in the frozen north country of Canada
It is lush here – I wo0uld also like to see the snow. And your far away homes. L.
What a stunning location. The pictures are beautiful.
Its nice isn’t it ? And the river is just at the end of the backyard.
