20 JANUARY 2012 : GELATO BAR

004009019018

THE YAAN. I seem to have lost the ability to Yaan. Add to that, the Foot in the Mouth comments I have made this week, and I sit here on my eBENCH – reluctant to say anything.

I made a joke about the Annual Elvis Presley Tribute Cruises and the Organiser poked me on Facebook. I still think 4 days on a ship with tribute bands is a nasty thought.

Then I insulted potential landladies and Centrelink.

I made some unsensitive jokes about a video before watching it. Melanoma is not a laughing matter.

They call me the Blunderer.

It’s been a busy day by my standards. A funeral this morning and then on to Bellingen to meet the Girls for lunch. I managed at last to get the Xmas gifts for the Southern part of my family AND I sent them off as well as returning my brother’s books by mail to Sydney and sending Izzy’s Anthology to a Blogger in Wollongong. There are Fairies and Dragons in the Mail.

One family’s heart breaks.

One family’s heart aches.

After the Funeral today, we went to Bellingen and were led to the Gelato Bar by the Cheery Redhead. I even have some tonic water. Some Summer Fruits and a gentle warm night surrounding me. The only noises are the horses and a black cockatoo. Someplace, over the way a bit, I hear the train going North.

ONE SMALL CHANGE I MADE TODAY WAS : I  PUT A CHOPSTICK IN MY HAIR AGAIN.

I don’t know when the term GELATO came to Australia. I don’t even remember when Ice Cream became something we bought rather than Mum made. I do remember the days before refrigerators.

We had an ice chest and the Ice Man came.

The Gelato Bar in Bellingen makes their own gelato – apparently.  Its owned by Bruce , a really nice man, so I am told. He seems really nice and KTB who worked for him in Sydney assures me that its true. The Cheery redhead loves the Gelato Bar.  I had Nachos there today and they were good. Very good.

AND NOW ON THE SUBJECT OF GELATO AND OTHER ICE CREAM.

I had never before heard of GELATO COLOURS.  Hope I never do again.

In fact, best I take a look at GELATO and forget the other ice creams for one moment although I know there is a grand story about poisoning at Ulmarra long ago . The Poison was in the Ice cream.

I’ve added this bonus because it has folding napkins. A skill I learned for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary way back in 1998.
