INDULGING IN COLOUR AND JOY.
I went to the Natural Growers’ Markets today and when I came home, the week’s topic had been posted. I haven’t gone for indulgence in food, alcohol or decadence. Across a crowded market, I saw this woman indulging in colour and hooping and joy. The children loved her and so do I.

THE YAAN : Well – I am taken by surprise again. I don’t much like many of the challenge pictures so far this week. Sounded a very motivational topic to me too. Last week with a simple word like DOWN brought out some really top shots. This week – well so far it’s a bit saccharine and predictable. So it seems to me tonight anyways I had best go seeking some shots of my own that truly sum up INDULGE and sometimes the images that come later in the week have more oomph to them. Maybe I will look for the negative side of indulging. Or something sinister.
I’ll take a quick look at sayings about INDULGING and see what they bring to mind.
FROM FRANKENSTEIN
The Creature: I do know that for the sympathy of one living being, I would make peace with all. I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.
AND NOW FOR SOME NEWSWORTHY INDULGENCES.
The Register (Adelaide, SA : 1901 – 1929), Thursday 2 January 1913,
The Mail (Adelaide, SA : 1912 – 1954), Saturday 16 February 1929,
I have now paid more attention to some of the posts and FRIZZTEXT’S tango images reminded me of a picture from the 1970’s.
THE ENGLISHMAN AND THE AUSTRALIAN GIRL.
I SHALL SAY MORE ABOUT THIS LOVE AFFAIR AT ANOTHER TIME. TONIGHT THE PHOTOGRAPH CAN SPEAK FOR ITSELF.
GOOD NIGHT ALL.
Hula hooping rocks!
The lady has it down! 🙂 Lovely job with the portraits of you in this template…
I’m glad, that my tango images
reminded you
of an own picture from the 1970’s,
featuring yourself:
THE ENGLISHMAN AND
THE AUSTRALIAN GIRL …
indulge, sink into your ocean
of good memories for today …
“should women indulge in violent sports?”
should women indulge in violent husbands?
should women indulge in violent sons?
should women indulge in violent job conditions?

I begin to understand (German is my natural language)
that sometimes it is better NOT to indulge,
as Shakespeare once wrote:
indulge or not indulge, that’s the question…
Oh well said. Excellent way to see it.
Indulge usually has a slightly negative implication in English. Your post made me think of the wonderful indulgences we can have, especially the deep emotions and senses.
And, even yet, I dare not let it languish,
Dare not indulge in memory’s rapturous pain;
