THE YAAN : This time I’m going to actually do some thinking . I haven’t been thinking much of late. For a Placeholder for the Weekly Photo Challenge : FREE SPIRIT, (until I find the over-exposed shot)I’m going to use the Loo at my daughter’s place. It’s a very fine place for a Free Spirit to sit awhile and think whilst looking out over the valley and the forest.

THE YAAN : Physical illness and poverty have been important to me in setting my spirit free. Sometimes, it’s the only part of me that can go free. I was going to post images of the beautiful people I see. The young children and the Bello girls with straight backs and arms swinging.The hoop-ers and the kayakers and the vigorous Free Spirits I see around me. But I am sick this week. That led me to sitting here and considering just how free my Spirit is. |

Free to fly back to the 70s when I lived and loved with a true adventurer. And we roamed and rode and swam and explored. Free to remember and research and dream and plan. Free to weave together all the pieces of my 63 years and see what we have.

A FREE SPIRIT IN FORMATION. I know that I’m not what most people would see as a free spirit. Old Val calls me a tortured soul. I know that the anchors of my personality still snag on rocks and seaweed. I don’t dash about much and don’t struggle to prove much of anything. I seem to get depressed – and yet, somehow , quietly, I KNOW what it is to be a Freed Spirit and I like it. |

What a lovely post. Makes me reflect on how easy it is to have a free spirit when we are young, but its something we have to work harder at as the years pass and life takes its toll 🙂
