WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE : MINE

Mine. Is there a place, object, or view that’s entirely yours, or you’re a bit selfish or possessive about? Is it a feeling you feel when you look at the photo, or perhaps an unwillingness to share? I get rather possessive about that first cup of coffee in the morning. It’s definitely mine and I want it all to myself.

MINE.

MY SPOT IN THE WORLD.

THIS IS A NEW PHOTO. ITS MY SPOT FOR THE WARM SEASON.

THE YAAN: When I think of MINE, I think of the place where I sit to write. I’ve almost always had one because I sit for a good deal of the time, at windows – most often.  This is MY place at the moment. The chair is my bucket chair from Grafton and you can see the burn on the back where it almost caught fire on the heater a few years back. It has horse hair in the padding. Real horse hair. The table is from Andrew Hegedus up in Ulmarra. A proper wooden table. I look to the East from where I sit, out over the paddocks down to Valery Road and although I can’t see it, I know the river is there and the ocean not much further along. The only person who sits in my place other than me is my daughter. And sometimes my son, but he lives 1000km away and can’t come very often to visit, This place is MINE.
