50 1 lynne sanders

It was easy to choose the image for 1950 because its a classic in our family. I was the first of the Grandchildren on the Bells’ side and have always been accredited with being the perfect baby. Pretty. Chubby. Curly haired. Rolling fat at the wrist.

In 1950 we moved into 27 Paxton Avenue, Belmore. The house that Dad built. Grandfather Sanders had died and didn’t make it to Belmore with us. Dad had his own building company and Mum was a housewife. The Carters had a house built by Bruce in Lakemba, the adjoining suburb and Auntie Jean gave birth to twin boys, Ross and Keith, who were not chubby and perfect. She sticky taped Ross’ ears back in an effort to stop them poking out.
