LYNNE ON THE FRONT VERANDAH AT 27 PAXTON AVENUE BELMORE
THE BELL FAMILY AT 13 TWEEDMOUTH AVENUE ROSEBERY
LYNNE WITH THE CARTER TWINS, KEITH AND ROSS, ON THE FRONT STEPS OF THEIR HOUSE IN LAKEMBA STREET, LAKEMBA.
1951. I have no memories at all of 1951 except the stories and the photos. Sydney in the 1950s. These 3 houses were the 3 significant places of my early childhood. Our house at Belmore was the double brick building in the double brick street. Opposite we had a canal and a railway line. Carters’ house was fibro but they had an extremely long backyard with trees and wonderful place to play and Nana and Poppa’s house at Rosebery had a nectarine tree, the tennis court next door and a parlour room which was sacred and mysterious.
