Things do change. The many mornings of quiet paddock views have been replaced by wild winds and flooding.
When I get up of a morning, I take one shot of the same view from my front verandah and its never quite the same view. I call the shot REVEILLE . The wake up call.
Most of my mornings are spent in the front room at the eBENCH, while Izzy feeds the animals. 2 chooks, 2 black cats, 2 dogs and a mass of birds – lorikeets in the main – but there are various species. The scrub turkey comes along with the chooks.
Then we take to the round table on the front verandah and drink white tea with local honey and eat a bagel each.
These Raleigh mornings, we face to the East. Well, the whole house faces to the east and just out of sight is the Bellinger River, and a couple of kilometres further on is the Pacific Ocean. In between is the Freeway but I can’t see it from here and rarely hear it.
THIS MORNING IN RALEIGH.
Throwing this one in because its important.
16 MARCH 2011 AT RALEIGH, NSW.
THE SUN PAINTS A SASH on the floor.
Colours are reborn.
The ceilings wake.
Drawers yawn from cupboards.
The morning chooses its garments For the day.
