ON THE BENCH: SUNDAY
THE YAAN: It’s a good day for an eBENCH and a Yaan. Bit cool and raining. I have the pictures of the first hour of my Today. Drizzling rain and mists. Up in Coffs Harbour, it’s the WINTERSUN FESTIVAL and HARBOURSIDE MARKETS. Izzy has headed up there for the gig he’s booked for TODAY, but the day is getting gloomier and wetter so things don’t look good. That will be $100 or more down for the week. No matter. Today is my Sunday.
Last night, I met a woman I have known for a very long time. She went back out there into the wastelands of addiction and she came over to me last night. It chilled me. I once read an article which I have recalled in part ever since. Its talking about alcoholism and it says:
Some of us have gone deeper than others and have touched the latent horror that dwells within. Paradoxically, we are the fortunate ones – because we KNOW.
Thing is, we are only fortunate if we get out of there alive. And I did. So TODAY is one sweet day for me. Even with rain falling and washing taking up half the living room. I bleed with the Bleeders and I weep with the Weepers – but I surely do Dance with the Dancers as well. I made it out alive. The rain falls and the mists come and Today remains beautiful. I have lived almost 25 years of TODAYS with all their intricacies. I am one of the fortunate ones.
