It says the REGRET comes from the old French – meaning, perhaps, RE-GREET. Just like REMORSE means to re-die.

THE BACKYARD OF YELLOW ROCK ROAD WAY BACK IN THE EARLY 1970s. That’s an outdoor loo and and outside bathroom and laundry.

One of the sayings in Recovery is

We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.

THE YAAN : Right then. 250 words as I sit here on the eBENCH listening to the rumble of afternoon storms. A bit later I am going for a plunge in the INTERNET ARCHIVE to look at other old dictionaries and see what their take on REGRET is.

Hailstorms are about this afternoon and rainbows out the front. They say the banana harvest has been destroyed. I live in a banana area. These storms are hard, fast storms. We have been fortunate so far at our place. No hail, no wild winds. The kookaburra is on the swing set and the pumpkin vine is creeping ever closer to the Cottage. Give me the luxuriant garden and the dank smell of vines creeping up over a Cottage any day. Just leave out the snakes and don’t let the cat from next door sneak in during the night and cause me a startled awakening. Give me wild ginger growing and tropical flowers, sarongs and bare feet.  In fact – maybe a muu-muu would be a good idea now.

I just found Mike Hardisty’s post for REGRET. I like his images but haven’t much liked the watermarking and it seems that it has also troubles Mike. http://mikehardisty.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/weekly-photo-challenge-regret/  What a good post. I don’t have a solution either.
